Business park shifts and Sprinter parking
Weekday calls lean toward the Vista Business Park, the manufacturing and warehouse blocks along Business Park Drive and Park Center Drive south of the 78. A key lost on the shop floor does not have to cost a crew truck its day. We come to the employee lot, and the truck is running again before the shift ends.
Sprinter riders call too, whether the car waits in the Buena Creek lot or at the transit center downtown. So do people parked in the Vista Village lots beside the Wave Waterpark, and evening crowds at the Moonlight Amphitheatre in Brengle Terrace Park. Shows can run late, so call before 9 PM, when our day ends.
Carlsbad or Escondido: the dealer trip from here
Car Country Carlsbad sits just off the 5 near Cannon Road and the Escondido Auto Park near the 15, and most brands have a store at one or the other. Either one is a run down the 78 from here, and neither programs a key unless the car is sitting in its service lane.
That is where the extra cost comes from. A Jeep Wrangler remote key is $189 with us and about $350 at a dealer, and a Mazda CX-5 smart key is $249 against $480. When nothing starts the car, a $125 to $200 tow widens the gap further.
Work trucks, soaked fobs and second keys
Fleet and contractor trucks lead the list: F-150s, Silverados, Rams and Transit vans, some of them down to one key shared by a whole crew. Ford chip keys cost $129 and Ram remote keys $189, and a second key cut the same day keeps the next lost key from stopping a job.
Summer brings a different problem: a smart key that went into the water at the Wave. Some fobs dry out and work again, many do not, and a replacement Toyota or Honda smart key is $249 or $239 with us. If the replacement fob came from an online seller and has never been paired, we program it for $79 to $119.
