Liberty Station, Shelter Island and the OB lots
Liberty Station's open lots around Liberty Public Market and NTC Park, and the lots along Shelter Island Drive near the boat launch, have room for the van, but whoever runs each lot decides about service vehicles. Call first, then pick a row near where you parked and text us the building name.
In Ocean Beach, the car is often in the beach lot at the foot of Newport Avenue, at Robb Field or by Dog Beach; call ahead for those too. Up the hill, Point Loma Nazarene University controls its own visitor parking off Lomaland Drive, so students should call before heading to the car. In La Playa, Fleetridge and the Wooded Area the key gets made in your own driveway.
Base traffic and the drive to Kearny Mesa
Rosecrans Street and Catalina Boulevard get heavy when shifts start and end at Naval Base Point Loma, and airport traffic stacks up along North Harbor Drive. We build both into the arrival time we quote, so the window you hear on the call is one we expect to keep.
The dealer comparison is plain. A Honda Pilot smart key costs $239 in your driveway and about $480 on the auto row before tax. For a Jeep Grand Cherokee it is $249 versus $460, and a Mazda CX-5 smart key is $249 versus $480. Those dealer figures also leave out the flatbed and the second trip when the key is on order.
Tow rigs and tired ignitions
Boats mean tow vehicles, so expect truck keys on this side of the bay. A smart key for a newer F-150 runs $239 here against about $450 at the dealer, a Ram remote head key $189 against $350, and an older Silverado chip key $125 against $230. Each is cut and paired in the lot, trailer still attached if that is how you left it.
On older cars, a key that sticks or turns hard is often a worn ignition rather than a worn key, and we check both before quoting. An ignition repair here runs $179 to $349; the dealer range is $350 to $700. We match the new cylinder to your current key, so doors and ignition still share one key.
